Can you tell us a little bit about your career? When did you first fall in love with fashion and what inspired you to be become a stylist?

Since a teen i was always the one at school trying out the latest craze, some good and some bad,  some never to be repeated when i look back at photos! so i started with work experience at ELLE magazine whilst I was at Uni and loved it. From there, I worked at Studio Magazines as the Editors PA but I was more interested in Beauty, I then became the Dolly Beauty Editor a few years afterwards and it was only once I got offered a job at CLEO magazine as Fashion & Style Editor that I moved into fashion. After that I was the Cosmo Fashion Director for about 8 years and now work as a contributing Fashion Editor for Grazia and Fitness First magazine.

Can you run us through the lead up to a shoot for you? How do you best prepare?

I always start with a mood board and work from there. For the JETS shoot since the swim needed to be hero, I focused on what jewellery brands would complement the collection, sandals for swimwear and some cute styling tips with scarves or belts to suit each bikini or one piece. I call in all the product and prior to the shoot, style it back with the designers collection.

What are the top 3 things that are an absolute necessity for you to have on hand at a shoot?

Chicken fillets for swimwear in case we need to fill out the bikini. Fashion tape in case a plunging neckline needs to be stuck down or a frill is blowing in the wind the wrong way. Clip and pins to ensure the product fits perfectly to the models shape.

How do you stay updated on current trends in the fashion industry? Is there somewhere you regularly go for inspiration?

I look everywhere for inspiration, mainly online, but also on the street around me when i am shopping or going out. vogue.com and grazia.com.au are perfect for seeing all the new trends and runways shows as they show every style. I also look at fashiongonerogue.comvisualoptimism.blogspot.com, and instagrammers like @kendalljenner, @gigihadid, @garypeppergirl, @manrepeller among others to see what the style set is wearing right now and its a combination of all of these avenues above combined with what i see in designers current collections that helps me style.

What were your initial thoughts of the JETS Preview Collection and how did you decide what look you wanted to go with for the shoot?

I loved the sleek styles and I could tell right away the cuts would be an amazing fit on the model. The (red) bohemian print was new for the collection so i was excited to style it slightly bohemian with sandals and maybe a headscarf. Khaki is a favourite of mine and i knew that would suit silver jewellery and look magic on the day.

What was your favourite shot from the JETS Swimwear Preview Campaign shoot?I love the plunge navy, white one piece shot with Merethe on the chair by the pool. Super chic and that swimsuit looked amazing on her. i want to be wearing that this summer somewhere in Europe - Amalfi coast haha.

You’ve worked with some amazing people and in some amazing places. What is one of your most memorable moments?

Biarritz France and Mykonos were two of my all time favourites to shoot, the water was crystal clear and amazing with the pebbles at some beaches and the weather is always supreme through summer so you can shoot all day and have swims in-between shots! the perfect work life balance. We shot models Robyn Lawley and Jess Buchanan for Cosmopolitan magazine.

You always seem to have exciting things on the horizon!…where can we expect to see you pop-up next?

Right now I’ve been styling some amazing campaigns in Bali for international brands all over the world, its been pretty awesome working with clients from everywhere from Paris and NY to Pakistan so the fashion has been varied to say the least. I’ve also got some great editorials out right now on grazia.com.au, womens health magazine and fitness first magazine.
